The Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, is home to the largest collection of Salvador Dalí’s artwork outside Spain and was recently placed on the list of the “20 Most Beautiful Museums in the World” by the American Institute of Architects. Located on the waterfront, the building is exposed to hurricane storm surges, wind and seawater. Built to withstand a Category 5 hurricane, the structure will resist a 165-mph storm (far above the local 123-mph requirement), providing much-needed safety. PENETRON ADMIX was used in the concrete mix for the museum walls to eliminate water infiltration through the exposed concrete facade during Florida's rainy season and any seawater incursion from Tampa Bay during storms – a very realistic solution for this formidable surrealist art collection.
